Tennis, Pickleball and More

Picture

The Fox Hills community offers two beautiful tennis courts for residents' use. The courts are to remain locked but are available from dusk to dawn during playable seasons. Both courts are striped for tennis and pickleball. There is a backboard in the courts for individual practice or play as well.  Our tennis courts are often seen being used by individuals, couples, and groups. If interested in joining a tennis or pickleball group, please contact the Pool & Tennis Coordinator for more information.  Guests of residents may use the courts with residents for a $5 guest fee, payable at the guard shack.

Basketball
The basketball court shares its back court with one of the tennis courts, so please be respectful of others using the facility.  The backboard is adjustable from 8 to 10 feet and features a 'breakaway' rim.

Gaga Pit
In 2026 aspiring Eagle Scout Max Beeckman took donations from the community to build a brand-new gaga pit.  Thanks to everyone who donated, to the scout troop (including parents) who built and especially to the Beeckman family for a very thoughtful, time-consuming contribution to our community.

Rules
  • Starting Position: All players stand with at least one point of contact (a hand, foot, or back) touching the wall of the pit.
  •  A referee or player tosses the ball into the center. Players shout "Ga" on the first two bounces, and "Ga!" or "Go!" on the third. Once the third bounce occurs, the ball is officially in play
  •  If the ball touches a player anywhere from the knee down to the toes, that player is eliminated and must exit the pit
  • Players can only hit the ball with an open hand or closed fist. Catching, scooping, throwing, or holding the ball results in immediate elimination
  • You cannot hit the ball twice in a row. The ball must first strike another player or the wall of the pit before you can hit it again. You can, however, continuously "dribble" or deflect the ball off the wall
  • If a player hits the ball over the top of the pit's walls, or if the ball touches the top edge or goes through a designated exit, the player who hit it is eliminated
  • Sitting on the wall, squatting down to protect oneself (often called "turtling"), or falling on your knees to block is illegal and usually results in an automatic out
  • If you hit the ball into the air and another player catches it cleanly (a "fly catch"), you are out
