General Information Centrally located within the community, the Fox Hills Pools complex serves as an inviting and vibrant gathering place for our residents. This recreational oasis offers a respite from daily life, inviting residents to unwind, engage in lively play, and foster deep connections with neighbors.
As the mercury rises during the summer months, the pools become a haven of excitement and relaxation. Children splash with delight and adults revel in the joy of sun-soaked afternoons, creating a bustling scene filled with laughter and camaraderie. Our swimming pools, coupled with our gaga pit, nine square, and playground, offer an array of recreational options, ensuring a good time for all.
Whether you're looking for a quiet spot to curl up with a good book in one of our shaded Adirondack chairs, or the chance to sway gently in a hammock under the azure sky, Fox Hills Pools provide a perfect setting. On some days, the aroma of delicious barbecues drifts through the air, while the chatter and splashing can be heard from nearby streets, reflecting the lively atmosphere. Adding to the convenience, our lifeguards run a concession stand, providing a selection of refreshments, snacks, and beverages. No other residential communities in Bloomfield Hills offer such a distinctive and engaging range of amenities.
The Fox Hills Pools facility takes pride in maintaining a safe and secure environment, operated by certified lifeguards throughout its operational hours. These vigilant professionals prioritize the wellbeing of all pool-goers, acting as a valuable second line of defense for our younger residents. However, we believe that the primary guardians are the parents, and encourage their constant supervision and presence with their children in and around the water. Our lifeguards are well-equipped with safety essentials including a backboard, safety rings, a rescue hook, and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and ensure all pool rules are adhered to, thus upholding an environment that balances fun with safety. Fox Hills boasts state-of-the-art swimming pools, maintained via a saltwater chlorination system. This ensures an optimal swimming experience for residents, virtually eliminating eye irritation or skin dryness typically associated with chlorinated pools, while maintaining crystal clear and bacteria-free water.
Our pump room, an integral part of the pool facility, houses the complex system that filters and purifies the pool water. Water is channeled through three high-pressure vessels, filled with silica sand and polypropylene sediment filter media, at an impressive rate of 120 gallons per minute. Ensuring consistent comfort for swimmers, we also employ two boilers to control the temperature of the pool water. With such sophisticated mechanisms in place, we guarantee a clean, safe, and pleasurable swimming experience for our residents. HOURS The pools open Memorial Day weekend and close on or after Labor Day weekend (weather permitting). The pools may occasionally be closed during the pool season due to inclement weather or due to our Fox Hills Swim Team events.

Any children under 10 in the pool area must be accompanied at all times by a responsible person 14 or older.

Pets are not allowed within the pool area during the regular season. We do have a doggy dip at the end of the season.
Smoking/vaping is only allowed in the parking lot and not in the pool area.
Infants and toddlers who are not trained must wear "swimmer" diapers or cloth diapers with tight fitting rubber pants in the pools.
Alcohol is permitted at our pools by patrons 21 and older (just not in glass and not in the pool itself).
We allow residents to have many types of pool toys/flotation aides. Squirt guns are not allowed though to ensure the enjoyment of others.
Forward diving (no flips) is only allowed in the 9ft area of deeper pool.
Pool parties may be held at the pool. If during regular pool hours, the charge is $4.00 per guest. If a resident member would like to have the use of the pool after hours (9PM-12AM), they must talk to the pool manager about lifeguard availability (it would require 3). If available, the resident member must pay each lifeguard $15 per hour (3hrs maximum plus 30 minute cleanup time), in addition to the $4.00 per guest fee. Parties must be scheduled with the Pool Manager and only our staff lifeguards can be used.
We have fun community events at our pools. Refer to the Fox Tales for pool events scheduled.
BABYSITTERS We know that many residents work during the summer but want their children to enjoy all that is offered within our community. Because of that, we make special allowances for babysitters at the pool area. All we require is that babysitters be at least 14 years old and non-resident babysitters need to be registered with the lifeguards by the resident parents. Babysitters will be admitted at no charge while they are babysitting. SWIM TEAM Fox Hills is a founding member of the Rochester Area Swim League (RASL), which was established over 30 years ago. We have our own swim team that typically boasts approximately 100 participants from the neighborhood. The season runs from Memorial Day until near the end of July. The swim team is a huge asset to our community and allows the swimmers (and their parents) to build long-lasting friendships while participating in a fun yet competitive league. The Fox Hills Swim Team is run by a group of volunteer parents. If interested, please talk to the lifeguards, pool manager, or pool coordinator who will surely know how to get you in contact with the team.
TENNIS COURTS
The Fox Hills community offers two beautiful tennis courts for residents' use. The courts do remain locked but are available from dusk to dawn during playable seasons. Both courts are striped for tennis, while one is additionally striped for pickleleball. There is a backboard in the courts for individual play as well. Our tennis courts are often seen being used by individuals, couples, and a Monday evening tennis group. Guests of residents may use the courts with residents for a $4 guest fee, payable at the guard shack.
